CANE For SENIORS
Cane Handling for Beginners
“Tri-Cane-Do” means the three methods, or ways, of using a walking cane for life enhancement: (1) For Health; (2) For Fitness; and (3) For Self-Protection
Most people who use a walking cane already know how to use it for improved stability in order to help prevent falls and injuries. (If you don’t, we’ll teach you!) But what most people don’t know is that it can be used for so much more! In this class the Head Instructors from St. Cloud Karate & T’ai Chi Instruction will be taking you through various methods of using the walking cane to improve your balance, strength, power, and flexibility. You will also learn how to protect yourself with a cane, and why we say that, “With a cane, you’ll never walk alone!” This class is open to anyone 18 and older, whether you currently need to use a cane or not. Please bring your own cane, preferably one with a hook on the end.
Be sure to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing, and we will be training in stocking feet.
Course Materials Fee (30 minute DVD included for home practice): $17.00 per person, payable to S.C.K.I. on the first class.
